As a Senior Data Scientist on our team, you will directly contribute to the innovative products we are building, while also mentoring and enhancing our team, expanding our technology, and strengthening our methodology.  You will interact with product and service teams to identify opportunities for data analysis and experiments, taking ownership for the full lifecycle from idea to production and iterating thereafter. This position is based in Seattle, WA.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
• Develop, improve, and experiment with methodologies and algorithms to support these efforts, using machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence and natural language processing techniques.
• Oversee the activities of the data scientist team and provide advanced expertise on statistical and mathematical concepts for the department and the company.
• Apply and inspire the adoption of advanced data science and analytics across Conversica
• Look for anti-patterns and coach the team accordingly
• Formulate new projects and initiatives based on your knowledge of our business and the state of the art in AI/ML technology
• Act as a steward of strengthening our data, understanding its limits, and how to increase applicability for business initiatives.
• Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.
• Your scope will reach from text classification problems over big data analytics to A/B testing and experiment design.
• Develop and code software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
• Discuss results and findings with leaders across the Conversica business.

Position Requirements:

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar (Masters/PhD)
• 5+ years experience as a Data Scientist in a production grade ML environment
• Competent in machine learning principles and techniques, including pytorch.
• Proficient in production software development in Python and familiarity integrating with agile software development teams and processes.
• Familiarity with deep learning and neural networks
• In-depth understanding of SQL.
• Familiarity with the field of linguistics and experience in natural language processing
• Outstanding mentorship abilities.
• Capacity to foster a healthy, stimulating work environment that frequently harnesses teamwork.
• Ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts
• Experience working with annotation teams is a plus.
