The Senior Marketing Analytics Manager (SMAM) is a highly curious individual, who is passionate about using analytics to drive insights, strategy, and execution. They systematically consider efficient data collection and vehicles, and lead efforts to translate that data into meaningful insights that see opportunities for innovation, growth, and continued customer happiness!

The SMAM will help the leadership team make effective decisions by providing informative market and segment research, data compilation, and data analyses to advise key activities including the evolution of our overall strategy, client engagement, and improved targeting of business development prospects that are a strategic and operational fit. This role will define strategies and develop solutions for marketing data collection, processing, and ongoing management, and ensure the subsequent delivery of information to teams across F5 in an effort to help accelerate success in achieving business imperatives. Responsible for ensuring the business always has the most accurate and reliable data available, the SMAM advises the collection and delivery of data from multiple sources, compiling information into digestible and meaningful formats. They own the team responsible for building and maintaining our marketing analytics dashboard and marketing funnel, and measuring performance across multiple channels.

The SMAM will collaborate with analysts and engineers to identify, develop, and implement innovative data & analytics solutions that strengthen the impact of business data by providing identification, definition and analysis of how data assets aid strategies and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a combination of business intelligence analyst, data specialist, and marketer - a strong collaborator and leader with vision who is able to influence process and decision-making efforts by credibly representing both the marketing and analytics points of view!

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Power a technologically-sophisticated, marketing program across both paid and non-paid channels by defining and applying appropriate marketing metrics, measurement methods, and experimentation processes.

  • Compile and maintain data that enables us to define, set, and achieve the right goals for our business by using marketing and customer reporting tools to generate usable insights, analyze data, and perform root cause analyses to understand customer behavior and engagement.

  • Modify and/or implement repeatable and reliable businesses processes to improve and sustain effective data management to ensure quality and consistency of data used to drive key business decisions.

  • Own the definition, implementation, and tracking of Key Performance Indicators to measure the effectiveness of the material models, processes and changes implemented

  • Deliver data-based recommendations, usin data and insights to increase efficiencies across acquisition and retention marketing channels

  • Coordinate with report users to understand data needs, and coordinate the delivery of those requirements

  • Lead marketing data development, quality, and modeling processes; collaborate with cross functional teams across the organization. Develop and maintain best-practice guidelines for data collection, attributes, definitions, usage, etc.

  • Partner with to combine internal data with external and qualitative data from market research and marketing agencies to better understand the "Why" of customer behavior.

  • Own and cascade Marketing budget modeling within the larger re-forecasting process; partner with(Finance, Planning, etc.) to demonstrate extensive modeling and historical data to advise appropriate levels of spend and distribution of budget.

Core Proficiencies:

The Senior Manager of Marketing Analytics will be an overall effective communicator. They will possess energy, develop valuable service definitions, and help lead change. The successful candidate for this position will have the following experience and expertise:

  • Minimum 3-5+ years proven experience data mining, analysis, and visualization

  • Proven track record of developing marketing campaign strategies and executing, measuring, and delivering performance insights

  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings, focusing on critical issues and measurable opportunities

  • Experience applying experiments, lift tests, attribution, and other measurement techniques to measure and optimize the performance of marketing campaigns

  • Experience rolling out marketing campaigns using iterative A/B test designs

  • Deep understanding of the online and offline media landscape, inclusive of channels such as search, paid social, affiliate, TV, podcast, display, etc.

  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, and document effectively.

  • Effective communicator; adapts style to align with audience and ensure understanding and value

  • Ability to manage both internal and external consultants, vendors, and suppliers
