The Data Annotator / Taxonomy Analyst role on our growing Data Intelligence team is an opportunity to support new product development based on machine learning in LivePerson’s conversational AI space. 

LivePerson is looking for an analyst to support a data science team currently working in the field of conversational AI.

You will spend part of your time developing taxonomies to analyze brands’ conversations with their consumers to identify the reasons why consumers are reaching out to the brands. The other half of your time will be spent formatting and labeling data for use within a machine learning system. We are looking for individuals who are flexible and detailed-oriented and are comfortable meeting with and gathering input from external customers.

You will also be responsible for providing feedback to our engineers on how to improve the user interface tools used in the annotation process. Joining our team means playing an integral role for the future of conversational AI.

In this role you will:

  • Partner with members of client facing LivePerson account teams to gather requirements to develop automated ways to identify why consumers are reaching out to brands
  • Work with enterprise clients across multiple industry sectors, including telecommunications, financial services and airlines
  • Work with cutting-edge text analytics technologies and provide input for user requirements to internal teams who are developing new tools
  • Become an expert in taxonomy development and data annotation

Your qualifications are:

  • Strong communication, English language, analytical, organizational and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with extended periods of reading conversation transcripts and classifying text, gaining deep knowledge of customer experience
  • Consumer focused, with understanding of customer journeys and goals
  • Experience creating, extending and maintaining taxonomies
  • Flexible, comfortable with working in an environment with shifting priorities
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Boolean formulas, regular expressions, SQL queries
  • Some call center, programming, and/or customer service background preferred
  • Experience with digital asset management software and workflows a plus
