Job Description

The VP, Clinical Strategy, reporting to the Chief Product Officer, is responsible for leading the clinical strategy work that encompasses an enterprise wide approach to clinical solutions and offerings. This role will drive the clinical direction of Accolade’s products, innovating and re-imagining existing and future solutions. This position will create and reinforce our clinical strategic vision and provide direction and support across the business.

A day in the life…

• Lead development, management, and communication of Accolade’s clinical strategy
• Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of high value projects to revenue generation and business objectives
• Research, establish, and drive health data collection and analysis strategies in order to effectively demonstrate the economic and clinical value utilizing Accolade’s technology to engage with the right members at the right time
• Utilize Accolade’s technology platform to define and lead our approach to population health in order to drive stronger health outcomes for our members
• Define and lead Accolade’s approach to engaging with providers as a critical participant in our members’ care
• Collaborate with Product Management, Operations and Field Operations to ensure alignment and efficacy of business products and processes with the clinical vision
• Ensure new product and solution offerings are grounded in well-articulated and differentiated clinical scope and process
• Provide clinical vision and leadership for Product/Solutions teams in transforming our business; optimizing and balancing cost with outcomes and ensuring value
• Build & own frameworks to ensure new clinical solutions are optimized for internal and external launch
• Maintain strong knowledge of healthcare policy, interpret for business impact
• Drive cross-functional projects internally or externally to influence and enhance position within the changing environment
• Represent the member; Be the champion and voice of member, bringing their voice into the creation 

Qualifications

What we are looking for…

• MD, DO, or equivalent; Continued education such as PhD / MPH / MBA is a plus
• 5+ years of clinical practice
• 5+ years of administration and policy work in healthcare
• Strong understanding of healthcare strategy, operations, clinical workflow and regulatory requirements
• Advanced level healthcare system knowledge and experience
• Experience in health services and observational research, including a strong appreciation of both traditional statistical models and modern data science (predictive analytics, network analysis, etc.)
• Demonstrated business, financial, advanced analytical and quantitative skills
• A proven communicator with demonstrated excellence in high visibility oral and written research communications; experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams
• A credible peer for anyone in the leadership of healthcare, an influencer and champion of change
• Very comfortable with developing, implementing, managing and executing through influence and in a collaborative manner across a cross-functional set of senior stakeholders
• Data driven but comfortable with ambiguity. Exceptional problem-solver. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions
• Strong capacity to remain calm and composed during times of uncertainty and rapid change
