The Associate Designer provides support to our growing design team and work directly with designers and sr. designers, under the supervision of art directors. The Associate Designer helps to execute on the established creative initiatives of client and internal projects from design to high-volume production needs to finalizing files for client hand off. The Associate Designer will help develop marketing collateral for a digital environment, keeping user experience and relevance at the forefront of design.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand Yesler's creative service offering in a holistic way
  • Be part of the creative process and offer strong recommendations when needed
  • Help create the best products on behalf of our clients
  • Contribute to concepts, designs, and execution in appropriate formats of creative work
  • Maintain knowledge/experience of digital design and marketing to an interactive audience
  • Work with templates, as well as develop custom creative work
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, writers, editors, developers, and consultants
  • Meet with PMs and senior designers to understand project parameters, goals, and tactics
  • Understand and execute creative work on multiple brands under supervision of an art director
  • Take constructive feedback and incorporate changes
  • Complete assigned concepts and deliverables on time according to project schedule
  • Uphold the Creative team's standards and process for concept development and asset creation
  • Keep up with new creative trends and technologies
  • Contribute to an energetic, collaborative, and productive work environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts, Multimedia Arts, and/or Interactive Design preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience as a graphic designer with a leaning toward the digital experience
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with both illustration and document layout
  • Calm under pressure, can excel and thrive in a high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and order
  • Eager to learn
  • Strong interpersonal skills – team player, positive, and an innovative thinker
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, presentation
