The Role

We’re searching for a Senior Art Director to join Remitly’s Creative team which is part of the larger Brand team. This role will report to our highly experienced Creative Director. In this role, you will help tell our story in a compelling, fresh way to drive growth on a global scale. You will be responsible for defining the creative strategy, developing conceptual direction, and the executing the visual direction of our marketing and advertising materials across all customer touchpoints including, but not limited to, TV, video, paid social, email, landing pages and things we haven’t even thought of yet.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure all consumer-facing materials are insight-driven, on brand, and driving results
  • Establish and evolve our creative standards and practices for the entire Marketing team
  • Partner with marketers, copywriters and designers, to ensure input and briefs into marketing are actionable, clear, and insightful
  • Present your work to internal stakeholders, and have sound reasoning or data to backup your points of view
  • Work with internal and external partners when needed, providing constructive feedback
  • Research and keep a pulse on trends, issues, and topics that matter most to Remitly’s key audiences around the world
  • Partner with Senior Copywriters, Producers, Designers, UX Designers and other creative team members.
  • Mentor, guide and oversee the work of assigned junior creative team members
  • Be a positive influence within Marketing and Remitly as a whole

Who You Are

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an advertising agency and/or in-house marketing team
  • Consumer brand experience a must; digital brand preferred
  • Proven expertise and knowledge of best-practices for mobile-first digital marketing: marketing site, digital advertising, email, and social
  • Ability to operate autonomously, without strict guidance or structure and manage your own workload
  • Ability to partner effectively with peers, managers and executives
  • A highly-developed instinct to be able to balance brand goals with performance goals
  • Extreme attention to detail and a high degree of discretion 
  • Ability to clearly articulate (and teach) your approach/thinking
  • An understanding of A/B testing and validation
  • A passion for people, communication, marketing, and storytelling
  • A sensitivity and desire to understand various cultures and trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write and communicate in other languages a plus, but not a requirement
  • Ability to work in Seattle, collaborate with the team, and meet deadlines
