Job Description

The User Experience Researcher II, reporting to the Director of User Experience, will serve as an integral member of the UX team, working closely with UX Designers, Product Owners, and SMEs to help prioritize users’ needs, evaluate experiences at different stages of development and be responsible for implementing research and sharing the findings.

As a UX Researcher, you will work with a team of passionate and driven UX designers and product managers to create and deliver the next generation of technology to simplify access to healthcare, enable informed and intelligent healthcare choices and reduce healthcare costs for millions of consumers. A day in the life…

  • Partner closely with UX designers to understand the products being designed and proactively suggest research that can help refine and validate concepts
  • Work closely with local and remote UX and Product teams to translate needs into actionable research objectives
  • Determine the appropriate research method based on stakeholder goals, and develop plans for research or testing
  • Facilitate moderated usability test sessions both in person or remote
  • Set up unmoderated usability studies using remote testing platforms (experience with Validately is a plus)
  • Conduct user research across multiple platforms including desktop, native iOS and Android, and responsive web design
  • Present findings to stakeholders using compelling deliverables that provide clear results, actionable insights, and recommended next steps
  • Identify opportunities for continued research, evaluation and understanding
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team and other product owners to gather and analyze quantitative data, triangulating it with qualitative research findings
  • Be a strong advocate for the user – evangelizing user-centered design practices and the importance of usability within the development groups, our company, and other cross-functional organizations
  • Traveling when needed to conduct research in person


Qualifications

What we are looking for…

  • Master’s Degree in engineering, human-computer interaction, business or design or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role and user-centric design environment. Experience in creating and leveraging a wide range of research methods (both qualitative and quantitative) including: remote and in-person moderated usability studies, unmoderated study setup, user interviews, field studies, survey design, competitive research, and heuristic evaluation
  • Ability to design and execute end-to-end research projects with some assistance
  • Experience working in an agile team environment, balancing quality research with the need to deliver results quickly
  • Experience with designing, executing, and analyzing qualitative user research; Experience with Qliksense is a plus
  • Experience presenting findings to various stakeholders, leveraging research and data to tell a meaningful story about the user and deliver actionable insights
  • Familiarity with human interface guidelines and how to leverage them to create a cohesive and consistent user experience
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and passionate about research and representing the voice of the end-user and customer
