We’re looking for a UX Designer for our Austin office who can define and deliver a first-class user experience for creators using our tools and services.
Join us in designing and delivering the next-generation of tools and services to developers using the Unity game engine. The Unity Austin team is responsible for the Unity build pipeline subsystems and related workflows, as well as the Unity Cloud Build service. As a UX Designer, you will be working closely with the core engine, editor, and service teams in designing experiences for these offerings used by millions of developers around the world.
A successful candidate is someone who loves to work on complex problems and is passionate about creating solutions that will affect millions of users who care deeply about both productivity and ease-of-use. You will be joining the R&D UX team who focuses on defining, designing and delivering a superior user experience for creators. Responsibilities involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (Product Management, Development, Design, User Research and external teams) to define the product space, user models, flows and product/feature definitions; working with UX peers to understand user issues and exploring design solutions to meet those needs; providing detailed design specifications and driving excellence in the final visual details of our products.
The UX Designer is an excellent verbal and visual communicator, with the flexibility and patience to try new things. They must understand the way creators use Unity today and identify opportunities for holistically improve the overall user experience.
Requirements
- 6+ years professional experience in the design industry.
- BFA/BA in Design field (Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, HCI) or equivalent experience.
Bonus Points
- Ability to generate and drive design ideas and to communicate those ideas effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaborative teams.
- Experience with some aspect of programming or scripting (such as JavaScript or CSS) is a strong plus.
- Expert knowledge of major design software such as Adobe or Sketch.
- Strong interaction design skills as demonstrated in an online portfolio.
