About the Role:

The UX Researcher reports to the Principal User Researcher at our Seattle office.
In this role you will:
- Support the UX research program for our internal UX team
- Play a critical role throughout all phases of the design process to provide valuable insights and recommendations
- Actively collaborate with UX Designers to strategize and understand user goals
- Work closely with director and product teams to identify research topics
- Recruit participants, write screeners, and help set up tests. Maintain participant spreadsheets, schedule sessions.
- Write test plans and scripts, incorporating a variety of research methods
- Conduct 1:1 moderated user research sessions, both in-person and remotely
- Plan and launch unmoderated user research sessions
- Conduct competitive analysis
- Work with director to perform quick but thorough data analysis to create insightful and actionable findings, both verbally and in well-written reports
- Provide an unbiased analysis of the data, giving the team information they need to craft the best experience and make design decisions and build empathy across the organization for our diverse user base
- Manage and adapt to change and can multi-task while working in sprint cycles and releases
- Learn about industry trends, and evaluate innovative approaches to research, test methods, and tools
- Analyze prior research from multiple channels for key patterns and assemble into comprehensive insights
- Analyze video to find key video clips to share in findings

About You:
You are passionate about understanding people's needs and motivations and how that helps us drive our business. You are excellent at finding the information needed from our customers to tell the story of how we can serve them best. Additionally, you are looking for a role where you can work collaboratively with a team to make an impact on our business.
You may be the right fit if you have:
- A recent graduate with up to two years experience in a UX role supporting and conducting user research
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, User Experience Design, or related field or equivalent training and experience in research related methodologies
- You have an understanding of and some experience with a variety of qualitative research methods such as heuristic evaluation, usability testing, concept testing, and discovery research
- A quick study, passionate and driven to fully serve the customer
- Able to quickly digest and hypothesize user behavior and feedback
- A highly collaborative person, able to work easily with peers and participants
- Mobile research experience a plus
- Must have the ability to legally work in the U.S. and can work in our Seattle offices.
Travel: Travel is not anticipated in this position.
Work Environment:
The RealSelf office sits in a historic Pioneer Square building. Employees also have the option to bring their dogs to work!
