What you will be doing:

  • Hire. Yes, it really is a brand new team you are building so be ready to put your team together.
  • Coach, mentor, train and develop the team. Engineers feel motivated when they feel like they’re delivering and learning. Help make that happen.
  • Establish and track clear, useful metrics to show progress.
  • Ensure easily maintainable code by creating and enforcing technical standards.
  • Make sure the product is performant, stable and scalable.
  • Partner closely with product managers to understand requirements and prioritize work as a team.
  • Innovate, think of new ways to do new things in an exciting market.

What we look for:

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Ability to manage a team and perform administrative operations including hiring and performance management.
  • Experience with full stack development.
  • Experience managing a huge 24/7 SaaS with amazing uptime.
  • Expert level coding in multiple languages and web application frameworks.
  • Ideally, experience with the following: app platforms (ruby, node.js, java, php, etc), browser technologies (html, css, javascript, and client frameworks), linux, database (sql and nosql), open source software and AWS/cloud services.
  • Understanding of software development life-cycle including Agile development.
  • Detail oriented and data minded.
  • Willingness to take risks.
