The Regulatory Administration and Airworthiness Team is looking for a Mid-Level Certification Systems Engineer based out of Everett, WA.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with engineering teams, project administrators, and regulators (may include international regulators/validation authorities) to successfully certify projects for the production teams
  • Review certification plans, write letters to regulators, and understand compliance process
  • Leading cross-functional teams resulting in resolution of technical issues
  • Coordinate technical messaging and partnering with the FAA/international regulatory issues
  • Own, manage, and have/develop technical aptitude to enable execution of process/procedure documents (BPM, BPIs, D6s, D950s, etc.)
  • Ensure proper coordination across products, platforms and functional areas to promote culture of compliance to requirements and application of procedures and FAA/international regulatory guidance


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or an aviation- or transportation-related field
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to Speak Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus
  • Experience working within China and North Asia
  • Experience working with the regulatory agencies and/or ODA on Type Certification projects
  • Experience working within the certification value stream
  • Experience communicating verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences including regulatory agencies representation, ODA Leadership, Engineering Unit Members (E-UM) & Project Administrators (PA), and Program & Functional Leaders
  • Experience making engineering proposals based on data analysis and forecasting wide reaching and longer term impacts
  • Experience developing presentations and presenting to multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience investigating and finding solutions to complex technical or regulatory issues.
  • Experience recognizing and balance conflicting priorities
  • 3+ years of Experience working in aviation safety


Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
