Boeing is currently looking for Mid-Level Test Engineer to join their team in Seattle, WA.
Do you have a passion for airplanes? This position will have you working in the Integrated Aircraft Systems Laboratory (IASL) in Seattle, integrating airplane simulations into test benches. You will support all aspects of the test bench, including engineering development, tests and studies. You will develop and maintain bench software models, I/O files and tools, and system performance analysis. You will be responsible for analysis and resolution of problem reports and change requests, initially working under close supervision.
You will collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources and apply knowledge of real-time software architecture and design methodologies.
Position responsibilities

  • Provide test bench support to test engineers in the Lab
  • Analyze C & Fortran code, electrical drawings, and collaborate across a broad spectrum of disciplines to get issues resolved and the systems 'ready for test'
  • Design, code and test components on test benches
  • Develop models and simulations of Boeing products
  • Work on an Agile development team utilizing pair-programming, test-driven development, and continuous integration


This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location. On-site work will be at a minimum 4 of 5 days per week.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ of engineering experience
  • Experience with software development processes such as requirements, software design, documentation and configuration control
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux systems
  • Experience creating scripts in UNIX
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming such as Java or C++


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with PC hardware
  • Experience with software lifecycle practices, agile methodology and repositories such as JIRA and Git, including version control
  • Experience in software and hardware integration
  • Familiarity using scripting languages: Make, Perl, Python, shell scripts, etc.
  • Experience with real-time simulation
  • Experience with hardware/software integration


Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
