As a Salesforce Technical Architect at Chef you will run, maintain and continuously improve our salesforce.com instance. You will also drive design and implementation of new salesforce capabilities/solutions for Chef’s fast growing business. You will be operating at the junction of customer engagement (field sales, services, support) and operations (sales operations, finance and legal), helping achieve operational efficiency and enabling continued substantial revenue growth. 

As the Chef Salesforce Technical Architect you will also have fun with designing and implementing process designs and related customizations in our SFDC instance and ancillary systems. You will help ensure our quote-to-cash process operates flawlessly through to our business desk. This position requires hands-on project management skills as well as the ability to directly achieve results. 

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in an incredibly fast growing business - as part of our Business Operations Group. The ideal candidate will bring SFDC expert knowledge as well as analytic and data-driven sales process management experience to the table. Fully utilize your Salesforce Administrator certifications in this high-touch, high-visibility role in the organization. Your ability to effectively communicate to both individual contributors and teams is critical. You should be detail-oriented, organized and capable of handling multiple projects at once. In addition, you should be, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and manage Chef’s salesforce.com instance (~160 users + growing)
  • Responsible for defining SFDC roadmap and keeping track of SFDC product/feature enhancements
  • Provide ongoing system administration, including configuration, data maintenance, documentation, reporting, and system integration of connected applications
  • Develop workflow rules, permission sets, custom objects, validation rules and workflows
  • Own data structure, data model design and review, data integrity, org-wide field mapping and consolidation, and case management
  • Facilitate business insight through reports and dashboards
  • Organize and prioritize Salesforce cleanup projects
  • Identify, engage and manage key projects aimed to improve our scale, speed and efficiency
  • Operate in a business analysis role providing insight and analysis for new business requirements and projects, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Enable our quote to cash process in salesforce (from awareness to MQL to opportunity, quote, order management, fulfillment and support)
  • Assist the SF Admin as an escalation point for various issues arising from cross functional stakeholders
  • Manage relationships and projects with external salesforce consultants as needed
  • Create training materials/user documentation and maintain ongoing documentation processes
  • Drive user enablement and readiness efforts to achieve adoption and sales productivity
  • Drive design, validation, implementation, test and rollout of new capabilities/ solutions (Of course we have a sandbox environment!)
  • Develop in APEX, Javascript, Visualforce and to provide fixes to ad hoc problems and keep the SFDC instance running smoothly.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years Sales Operations experience, ideally in the Software/ SaaS industry
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification 201, Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification 301 , Salesforce Developer Certification 401
  • Certified Application Architect or Certified System Architect with track towards Technical Architect Certification in your horizon strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently to meet project requirements with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical capacity to understand data, patterns, and trends, paired with solid attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to listen and read between the lines)
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines, and distill feedback and requirements to actionable items
  • Ability to multi-task, and handle occasional short term priority changes with high level of grace and professionalism
  • Self-drive and strong bias toward execution and getting things done
  • A professional, outgoing and energetic, yet flexible attitude to the job (“can-do”)
  • Ability to work in a global, remote and growing team environment
  • Ability to management integrations with SFDC and cross-functional apps (Ideally: Knowledge of DocuSign, Zendesk, Marketo and Zuora)
  • BS Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, and/or related field
