Senior Frontend React Developer
We’re looking for an experienced React developer to help build UI for our annual Hackweek. It’s traditionally been an in-person event but current circumstances require that we host this as a virtual event. We plan to make the most of our available tooling to provide the best possible online experience for Hackweek 2021.
You will collaborate closely with another developer to implement new features in our Idea Registry website, where Hackweek participants can share ideas, recruit others to form a group, and get general information about the event. We’ve gathered user feedback and coordinated with the event planning team to come up with a set of features to add onto the existing website in order to facilitate the virtual event and engage a tech-savvy user base.
Responsibilities
Translate existing user stories into UI components
Propose and implement UI using Material Design principles, based on described user flows
Identify problems in the user flow and propose logical solutions
Coordinate with other developers to understand the problem space and desired outcomes.
- Estimate tasks and communicate priorities daily.
Requirements
Extensive knowledge of JavaScript and React including the project ecosystem and how it works
for delivering single page applications
Proficient UI/UX developer can identify problems in the user flow and provide logical solution
Hands-on experience with modern CSS frameworks and methodologie
Good understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS
Excellent debugging and optimization skills
