The opportunity

Unity Technologies is seeking a Localization Engineer to join the Global Localization Team, supporting globalization for our expanding portfolio of products and services. In this role, you will be spearheading streamlined solutions across various technology stacks and system architectures. You will be partnering with developers and product managers worldwide, providing guidance on internationalization, as well as aligning teams to standardized and centralized localization workflows

This is a full time position, and travel may be occasionally required.

What you’ll be doing

• Establish foundational localization workflows by crafting and sustaining a core automation framework
• Provide guidance on standard methodologies for globalization of applications and online services
• Platform agnostic scripting, source control automation, and architecting baseline automation workflows
• Perform analysis of new features and products to ensure they are i18n ready and, and the source content is clear and ready for translation
• Machine Translation engine refreshes, customized engines deployment, and Translation Memories (TM) maintenance and optimization

What we’re looking for

• Expertise in a platform-agnostic scripting solution
• Experience with both client and web application localization engineering
• Hands-on experience working in Translation Management Systems (TMS), with knowledge of how to automate project workflows
• Strong written communication skills, and experience authoring technical framework specs and white papers to educate development teams on common challenges and solutions.
• Ability to articulate ideas and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences. You are comfortable speaking to all levels of leadership, and able to clearly convey thoughts and ideas to your target audiences.

You might also have

• Experience going through a full software development life cycle, or game release
• Experience with Translation Memory management and pseudolocalization
• A hardworking, problem-solving mentality - you see challenges as opportunities for improvement
