Riding the Construction Tech Wave with Maps, Massive Storage

Unearth captures all types of construction technology from mixed reality and 3D to drone data and IoT sensors and places it all on a map for a groundbreaking and intuitive retrieval and collaboration experience. Led by a group of serial entrepreneurs and product gurus, Unearth is a venture funded software startup redefining the way the Construction industry manages the vast data accumulated from building and maintaining large infrastructure. Our map-based collaboration platform bridges the information gap between desk workers and field teams, so both the superintendent in the field and the land developer 1000s of miles away in the office can both see the latest progress on the site. The $1.7Tr US construction industry is at the beginning of a massive technology adoption to reverse declining productivity and Unearth sits at the center of disparate technology solutions, harnessing their powers through a single management platform.

Dreaming of creating a mobile strategy from scratch that will have an anxious customer base waiting to use and provide feedback? As the senior mobile engineer, you’ll have a wide range of responsibilities from architecting the plan for cohesion between iOS and android, finding novel implementations for challenging problems and providing input on the company coding philosophy, culture and team. If you’re looking to grow personally and professionally, Unearth will introduce you to cutting-edge tech and support your career growth in the fascinating world of construction technology.

Come join our venture funded team as we build another Seattle success story!

  • Unlimited personal time off (PTO)
  • Maternity and Paternity Leave benefits
  • Health benefits (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Excellent team morale events (go-kart racing, drone racing, mini golf, wine tasting & more)
  • Competitive salary compensation
  • Performance-based stock option grants

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build and deliver Unearth's mobile application strategy. Our web and iOS apps have highly engaged customers; we need you to set the stage for our next phase of growth.
  • Collaborate with back end engineers so the app cooperates nicely with our API
  • Collaborate with other front-end engineers so our client experience is seamless across web and mobile devices. If something that’s easy for a browser is a brain twister for a native app, we’re counting on you to push on our designs till we resolve that tension.
  • Lead the mobile app releases – you'll hold the keys to iTunes Connect
  • Maintain a high quality bar while rapidly iterating on new product features
  • Quickly prototype new ideas to drive roadmap and set sales expectations
  • Refine engineering methodologies and engineering culture for the company. Healthy engineering cultures never happen by accident – how will you foster ours?
  • Lead technical hiring process and provide technical mentorship

As a senior mobile engineer, you should be able to tell us stories about:

  • an iOS or Android app that you led through its full lifecycle, from app store screenshots to analytics
  • the way you’ve addressed native-app constraints like battery life, network connectivity, or gesture limitations
  • a recent mobile tech announcement that inspired you to add a new feature to your app
  • a time you worked efficiently with people different from you to solve a problem
  • a tricky dependency map for a feature that you’ve defused with clear communication
  • an issue you fixed that was far outside your job description
  • a feature suggestion you’ve made that increased a company’s revenue
  • the data & metrics you’ve used to make software decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-platform solutions like React Native. How has it helped your team be more effective? Or, if you’ve chosen not to use it, why was that the right decision for your product?
  • Experience communicating with customers, support and management to keep the apps aligned with product strategy.
  • Experience hiring and managing software engineers. What steps have you taken to become a better a mentor/leader?

PS. Imposter syndrome is a thing. If you're on the fence on whether you're qualified for this position, do us both a favor and just apply!  When we find a mutual fit, we'll craft a position that's a fit too.
