DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Web Services ("AWS") Identity team is building and operating the identity, authentication, and authorization stack for the AWS cloud. In this quest we are pushing the technology boundaries in building a trusted and highly reliable architecture that provides the security controls for massively scalable and globally distributed systems that exist both in AWS as well as in our AWS customers services. Our services empower customers to confidently and securely execute their workflows by providing flexible controls which meet each customer’s individual security requirements.

We are seeking an experienced security engineer to work directly along-side our other engineers to ensure the security of our customers. Together we design, implement, and validate the security framework on which massively scalable web applications and services are built. If you enjoy analyzing the security of web applications and services, working with others to instill a culture of security, learning and applying new skills on a daily basis, and helping to secure some of the most critical systems in AWS, then join us our challenging endeavor! Your responsibilities include:

Drive continuous improvements for the security of identity and access primitives used by AWS
Work with other engineers to design and implement robust solutions for addressing customer needs
Stay up to date, anticipate and explore new threats as they apply to identity and access management systems
Build prototypes and proofs of concept to demonstrate feasibility for new, innovative security technologies
Collaborate efficiently with developers, other security engineers, and teams in AWS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development, system and network security
Excellent written and verbal communication
Working understanding of cryptography, internet protocols, and operating system security
Relevant knowledge of threat modeling and secure coding practices
Experience with service-oriented architectures and web services security
Knowledge of one mainstream programming language

Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services
Demonstrated ability to accomplish stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
Excellent leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills.
