We, specifically, are the UI Team, a high-performing cross-functional team of developers, product managers, and designers responsible for the front-end engineering work that aids Apptio in delivering this service to our customers.

What we want you to do:

This role is a primarily concerned with user experience, UI development and client-server integration. You will work on end-to-end features from concept to design to production, and partner with product managers, user experience designers, and other engineers to achieve high-quality solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• Strong knowledge of object oriented programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems and asynchronous architectures
• Experience with best SDLC practices: coding standards, reviews, code management, build processes, and testing
• Experience with developer tools like git/mercurial, ant/maven/gradle and Eclipse/IntelliJ IDE.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Breadth of experience across languages and frameworks.
o Proficiency with Java or similar language
o Deep knowledge of JavaScript, including the latest features in ES6.
o Production experience with modern JS frameworks like React or Angular.
• Proficiency with web application development, concepts like REST APIs, MVC and derivative patterns, build tools and standards
• HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like box layout model, rule specificity, cross browser compatibility and accessibility
• Experience with test automation, including unit testing (such as JUnit) and functional testing (such as Selenium)
• Experience developing Software as a Service (SaaS) applications and understanding the impact of this architecture in a deployment environment
• Experience with relational databases, schema design, SQL
