About the Position

Qumulo’s customers are responsible for managing large amounts of data and the front end engineers at Qumulo build simple and beautiful user experiences to make this job easy. In this role, you will work closely with UX designers and other software engineers to show customers the information needed to understand how their Qumulo system is working. You will also build shared UI paradigms and components to ensure a polished and consistent user experience throughout the product.

Your skills and interest will also allow you to: 

• Reach new levels of mastery by teaching experienced developers who are new to front end engineering
• Improve the foundations of our UI with more and better components
• Drive improvements and instill the right practices 
• Grow your skills beyond the front end by working with other areas of Qumulo’s petabyte-scale file system and associated services

Responsibilities

• Integrate with Qumulo teams to create a great user experience by building simple, lovable and complete UI using React and TypeScript
• Collaborate with user experience designers, product owners, and software engineers to deliver user-facing products
• Design front end systems that are testable and maintainable
• Share and teach what good front-end code looks like across our engineering organization.  Learn new techniques and methodologies and introduce them to the team to continuously improve.  
• Ability to work incrementally and collaboratively in an Agile development process 

Qualifications

• At least four years of demonstrated ability in a software development role including three years experience with front end component-based frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, etc.  
• Facility with JavaScript or TypeScript 
• Proficiency in concepts such as asynchronous programming, promises, and closures
• Ability to build a user-centric experience through collaboration with designers and internal/external customers.  
• Proficiency in software testing, including challenges specific to testing front-end code
• Experience using computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures
• We are hiring at multiple levels of seniority; the appropriate level is determined through the hiring process.
