To support Xealth’s goal of improving healthcare for everyone, the role of Solutions Architect at Xealth will engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive the design, delivery, and integration of Xealth solutions, as well as provide internal clinical information system and workflow expertise. As subject matter experts, the Solutions Architect role will define and design optimal data flows and workflows for our integrations, provide ongoing integration support to internal Xealth teams to ensure optimal customer value and experience, as well as engage with customers (as needed) to ensure Xealth’s capabilities are utilized optimally.  As Product Owners for Xealth’s clinical integration capabilities, the Solutions Architect Role will identify and drive the implementation of new capabilities to create additional value to Xealth and our customers. 

Specific responsibilities include duties in Product Ownership, Client Onboarding, Use Case Identification and Implementation, Post Implementation support, as well as other duties as assigned. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Health System Client Onboarding Responsibilities

The Solutions Architect will: 

  • Manage and execute the EHR discovery process, as appropriate
  • Act as liaison to the customer’s Information Systems technical team(s): gathering information to define Xealth configuration requirements, and answering customer’s questions related to EHR build needed to implement Xealth Integration
  • Assist customer’s Information Systems/EHR team in troubleshooting EHR build issues related to Xealth
  • Update and share Xealth deployment documents with health system
  • Document health system configuration/build specifics in the Deployment Checklist
  • Update tickets that provide technical information needed to configure Xealth software and infrastructure for the client onboarding
  • Review and ensure completeness of Xealth deployment(s) build (mon-production & production)
  • Create tickets and work with engineering to resolve any issues with Xealth deployment(s) build (Non-Prod & Prod)
  • Partner with Engineering and Analytics to ensure any and all appropriate data is accurately captured 
  • Partner onboarding 
    • Determine any partner PHI requirements

Client Use Case Identification & Implementation

The Solutions Architect will: 

  • Ensure workflow options avoid attempts to replace native EHR functions, ease technical friction, and address clinical care needs/gaps/concerns
  • Work with Engineering to create technical specifications for use cases 
  • Determine if use case requires additional EHR setup and determine scope of EHR setup, as appropriate
  • Act as liaison to the customer’s Information Systems/EHR team(s) for defining Xealth configuration requirements and answering customer’s questions related to EHR build to support Xealth
  • Assist customer’s Information Systems/EHR team(s) in troubleshooting EHR build issues related to Xealth 
  • Partner with Engineering and Analytics to ensure appropriate use case data is accurately captured

Post Implementation Support

The Solutions Architect will: 

  • Maintain the HL7 spec for customer health system

Product Management Responsibilities

The Solutions Architect will: 

  • Product manage new EHR Integration feature functionality/capabilities
    • Submit technical features to intake
    • Via the intake process secure resources from Engineering and QA, determine project schedule
  • Identify and consult with key stakeholders on product design (including client stakeholders where applicable)
  • Write requirement specifications for new product features
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to develop features 
  • Work with engineering to create appropriately flexible product to meet customer needs (if applicable)
  • Work with QA lead on test plan for new product features
  • Create client-facing documentation for new product features
  • Act as subject matter expert on accurate terminology in products and features

Requirements for the Solutions Architect role: 

  • Strong ability to drive ideas through to execution
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders (internal and external) to identify Xealth capabilities and features to drive Xealth’s value to customers and the market
  • Experience with integrating 3rd party vendors into existing infrastructure, preferably using FHIR integration strategies
  • Extensive build/configuration experience with 3rd party integration(s) into the clinical or revenue cycle user and patient facing user interfaces
  • Working Knowledge of industry integration methods - HL7, ANSI X12, CCDA, FHIR, HIE, EDI, Epic APIs, Cerner APIs, CCL scripts, etc.
  • Clinical workflow, end user facing, and clinical EHR build configuration experience required
  • 5+ years working as a systems or integration analyst at a health system(s); additional product side experience a bonus
  • Expertise in data structures and exchange of data between clinical systems
  • Build/configuration experience with HL7 v2.x integrations
  • A desire to expand your abilities in a startup as an integral member of a small, cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusted relationships with colleagues 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
