Blue Nile is currently seeking a Website Developer, Contractor to join the Site Development team. This position focuses on making changes to the Blue Nile website to improve the experience for disabled customers who use screen readers to navigate through the website. This is a temporary position to supplement the team capacity starting immediately and running through the end of December, with the possibility of continuing longer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work as a member of the Site Development SCRUM team, focusing on the assigned tasks requesting accessibility (ADA) updates to the website.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to investigate and correct problems with the content displayed on the site.
• Check in your work to the version control system (Git)
• Maintain focus on assigned tasks and report progress and issues through the Agile/SCRUM methodology, updating tasks in JIRA task control software.

Qualifications:

• Proficient with HTML5 and CSS
• Experience with Javascript
• Experience working with a version control system, Git preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high production standards
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Experience with WCAG 2.1 Web Accessibility Guidelines preferred
