Avalara is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in our GL/Accounting team. You will perform a variety of AP and accounting tasks under the direction of the Accounting Manager. If you are a team player and enjoy working in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment, this is the role for you. 
 

Job Duties

  • Extract invoices from AP email and route for approval.
  • Download monthly invoices from vendor online portals.
  • Log Marketing invoices in Salesforce.
  • Scan hardcopy invoices to network.
  • Enter invoices in Great Plains.
  • Research & gather receipts for charges made to Corporate Credit Card.
  • Prepare payment requests for state and local taxes.
  • Prepare vendor checks for mailing.
  • Research uncashed vendor checks.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Compile AP audit support.
  • Maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, professional and reliable
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualification

  • Great Plains experience
