The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, primarily responsible for managing the operational transactions in the general ledger (accounts payable and fixed assets). This will include all general accounting associated with the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, and financial reporting of results and analysis. This position will be responsible for leading a team, driving operational process improvement and development efforts and will work collaboratively with other functional areas of the organization.

  • Key member of the month end close process, including preparation of journal entries and accruals to prepare financial statements, ensuring the distribution of an accurate financial statement package to management in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for oversight and review of the accounts payable staff including supervising, training and developing, managing team workload and ensuring timely and accurate processing and payments.
  • Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts including accruals, purchase credit card liability, etc
  • Management of Concur expense reporting and administration.
  • Responsible for problem solving and implementing process efficiency where possible.
  • Ensure timely period close in the processing of accounts payable and monitoring the monthly and quarter end accrual process.
  • Continue to drive efficiencies and improvements within the accounts payable and payment process.
  • Key member in the coordination of the year-end audit, preparation of schedules, process memos, financial statements, and footnote disclosures in accordance with GAAP for independent auditors.
  • Review of various general ledger accounts performed by the staff.
  • Recommend and establish accounting policies and internal controls for protection of company assets.
  • Prepare daily and monthly account analysis to ensure accuracy of business transactions occurring in general ledger accounts.
  • Work with Accounting Manager to increase operational efficiencies; implement, document, and manage processes as required for operations; assist with special projects
  • Collaborate cross departments to perform ad-hoc analysis to assist with the development and progression of the business.
  • Lead and coach team; providing regular feedback and support 

Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry

  • Four or more years’ experience in Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university in business, accounting or related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel in particular)
  • Prior Accounts Payable Process Development
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills. Able to discern alternatives and make objective recommendations.
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills to independently prioritize multiple tasks and bring projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management ability. Able to act as primary owner of individual projects, analysis and process while working cross functionally outside immediate work group.
  • Strong operational accounting experience, knowledge and analysis skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Microsoft NAV ERP experience preferred
  • Concur experience preferred
