 ABOUT THE POSITION

The Finance Manager is responsible for all areas relating to subscription revenue reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and subscription revenue reporting. The Finance Manager is responsible for the accuracy and input of reported subscription revenue, billing operations and collection of subscription fees from customers.  The Finance Manager will be collaborating with a wider finance team across three geographies and collaborate with senior-level staff and the firm’s Executive Team, Group Financial Controller, and the Operations team.

This position reports to the Group Financial Controller 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Billing Analyst, with potential growth of team
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information 
  • Responsible for all subscription revenue accounting matters
  • Own month end process for subscription revenue and associated balance sheet accounts (receivables, unearned revenue, capitalized free periods etc) 
  • Ensure appropriate balance sheet reconciliations for all subscription revenue related balances
  • Develop and optimize existing revenue accounting processes
  • Assess and implement revenue recognition criteria for new products 
  • Accountable for the billing function
  • Ensure debtor ageing is maintained as current as possible
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Group Financial Controller, and other finance and firm wide leadership regarding financial results, special reporting requests 
  • Collaborates with the finance team to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Strong analytical and communication skills supported by advanced Excel skills

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5+ years’ relevant experience in positions that require analysis, reporting financial results, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of business impact and results
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in Finance
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
  • “Big 4” accounting firm experience preferred
  • IFRS and US GAAP proficiency and experience in navigating through complex technical accounting matters is a must
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and the ability to manage and lead a team
  • Subscription revenue accounting experience preferred
  • CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working in the SaaS environment preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite, Zuora and Tableau preferred
