About the Role
We are hiring a Manager, Tax & International Accounting to play a key leadership role in our fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic global company. This position will report to the VP of Finance and Accounting and will be a strategic partner overseeing the company's US and International tax, accounting, and compliance projects. This position offers an individual the opportunity to build the tax department from the ground up implementing policies and procedures for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
What You'll Do

  • Manage, plan, and prioritize US and International tax compliance and projects.
  • Oversee the preparation of state & local, property tax, VAT, GST/HST, and other related US and international tax filings including preparation of related accruals, journal entries, and related account reconciliations.
  • Assist with quarterly estimated federal and state tax payments.
  • Work closely with third party tax providers providing documentation support and provision and tax return review.
  • Support and advise on the execution of US, international and foreign tax planning strategies to manage global tax risks and optimize efficiency with respect to international operations and structure.
  • Develop an overall tax compliance calendar and lead coordination with external tax consultants and internal accounting teams.
  • Finding and implementing opportunities for process improvement in the company's tax and international accounting procedures. Rollout new processes across the organization.
  • Assist with transfer pricing studies and intercompany service agreements including monthly intercompany journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage all tax audit activity and respond to tax notices from authorities.
  • Participate in operational and transaction and deal structure discussions to address tax matters.
  • Mentor and develop employee(s), including giving directions and delivering evaluations.


Who You Are

  • Comprehensive and demonstrable technical skills related to general accounting principles, ASC 740, and federal and state income tax concepts, with exposure to international tax concepts
  • Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and online tax research software


What You Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, document, and scale processes to meet the needs of a growing organization
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field, 5+ years of professional experience, and experience managing a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and disciplines within the organization
  • CPA is highly valued
  • Public accounting experience with Big 4 or large multi-national firms is highly valued
