Job Description
Senior Director, FP&A
FP&A is a critical function for PayScale that helps the CFO, CEO, executive leadership team and Board gain financial visibility and insights into the business. This high-profile team runs PayScale’s financial processes, including our annual planning and budgeting process, our monthly / quarterly budgets and forecasts, and helps architect and drive all our key financial reporting to the executive leadership team and Board. FP&A partners with other key operational teams on all the moving pieces that impact our financial outlook. As a leader of this team, you will:
- Manage key financial processes, including long-term and rolling forecasting, budget planning, performance reporting, and others
- Create financial commentaries and insights for decision support and key financial deliverables
- Develop new (and improve existing) processes relating to strategic planning / financial planning / reporting based on a deep understanding of business KPIs / drivers
- Support and refine the metrics to track our function-specific and company-wide trends, find opportunities, provide recommendations, and collaborate across all levels
- Have a highly collaborative approach and the ability to interact with senior leadership and board members
- Support ad hoc projects (including strategic planning, corporate strategy, unit economics, business case development) and help define systems and operational improvements to support PayScale’s growth ambitions
- Apply an analytical approach to influence strategic decision-making, with a focus on capital allocation decisions and long-term financial planning
- Manage and continue to grow a small but impactful team
- Understand how to operate in and improve upon PayScale's financial systems and reporting through the use of Adaptive Insights
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant field
- 8-12 years of relevant finance experience, including experience in finance/strategy/banking/ corporate development – ideally in private equity-backed or public company with specific experience in corporate FP&A
- Experience mentoring and managing a team, providing the right balance of support, guidance and runway to create a best-in-class finance function
- Experience leading complex workstreams and collaborating with senior executives
- Excellent proficiency in accounting and corporate finance concepts, SaaS experience required
- Strong attention to detail combined with the business judgment to understand the bigger picture drivers that guide forecasting
- Good understanding of Accounting and GAAP principles
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and operate at a high capacity to get things done in short timeframes
- Familiarity with financial planning processes and business systems (Adaptive Insights / Salesforce experience preferred)
- Pricing experience is a plus
