Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will be working within the Finance team delivering companywide results and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting Department including expense reporting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Process and record Accounts Payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures.
- Perform various journal entries, reconciliations, and general accounts analysis, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
- Review and process expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on a monthly basis.
- Prepare timely and accurate customer invoicing. Contribute to the Finance team by sharing information and assisting others in a variety of tasks.
- Participate in finance as a hands-on team player.
- Help identify and implement areas for process improvement.
- Assist on projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent)
- 2+ year’s accounting/auditing experience
- Strong procedural experience
- Establishing strong operational knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with NetSuite or other larger ERP
- Understanding of financial markets
- Experience in ad hoc reporting
- Developing and tracking operational accounting KPIs
