The Challenge
The Community Lead will be a part of a growing marketing and communications team and will develop community and social media campaigns for Private Division with a priority focus on Kerbal Space Program (KSP). The KSP community has grown over more than a decade into a positive, encouraging, problem-solving, and creative group spread across multiple channels, and this position needs passion to connect with them wherever they are. This role will also contribute to broader Private Division social strategies in support of the exciting games in our portfolio.
What You'll Take On

  • Lead planning and project management for community and social media strategies for Kerbal Space Program and Private Division.
  • Coordinate junior community management team for day-to-day execution of content roadmap and strategies and assist when needed.
  • Collaborate with the development team, the broader marketing team, and production team to support the worldwide marketing, PR, and game delivery campaigns for KSP and other Private Division titles.
  • Think creatively and work with development, the internal content team, and vendors on assets and programs for the social and community plan.
  • Occasionally use the Adobe content creation suite to build short videos and static images to post on social media.
  • Represent the Private Division brand and spirit as an on-site representative at trade and consumer shows.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with content creators and community influencers to strategically engage with video game audiences across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, the official forums, and more.
  • Travel, both domestic and international, is required subject to company and COVID travel policies.


What You Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in community management and social media with a solid understanding of the video game industry either personally or professionally.
  • An awareness and appreciation for Kerbal Space Program, or an interest in space, space-related media, and the overall space industry.
  • Experience in crafting and completing community-focused social media campaigns.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, as well as time and project management skills.
  • Able to build respect with development teams through thoughtful input, transparent communication, and perseverance.
  • Ability to run partnerships with freelancers, agencies, vendors, and other external resources.
  • Experience in building communities on major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch.
  • Experience using analytics to measure and track community sentiment, reach, and engagement over time.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or other relevant project management toolset, including demonstrated experience learning those used by past teams. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop required.
  • An active awareness and deep understanding of pop culture in video games, tech, and entertainment.
