Chef is looking for a product marketing expert with experience in enterprise platforms and open source software. Join us in delivering exceptional product marketing for a world-class platform. We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing to help tell the Chef story with impact and grow the market within Enterprise IT and AppDev. This role is responsible for the interface between marketing, product, sales, business development, field engineering, and customer success which means building feedback loops, prioritizing content, and then delivering content that impacts our growth and the experience of our customer and our own teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create and deliver product marketing materials: messaging content, presentations, customer deliverables, etc.
  • Design, implement, and manage product marketing plans and sales plays to grow Chef revenue and market share.
  • Own and deliver significant aspects of Chef’s sales enablement program, working closely with sales teams around the globe.
  • Develop competitive materials and differentiate Chef in the market.
  • Work with demand generation colleagues to develop go-to-market materials for marketing campaigns.
  • Interact with customers to understand their use cases, adoption journeys, and outcomes, and use insights gained to build compelling customer reference materials.
  • Work with industry analysts to build a positive view of Chef in the marketplace and further define our unique category.
  • Help evolve Chef pricing and packaging to optimize market opportunity and revenue.
  • Collaborate with business development colleagues to create partner-ready sales materials.
  • Build relationships across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Field Engineering to synthesize and prioritize feedback, then turn that into actions that support our product and platform story.
  • Speak at industry events and represent Chef and OSS in the community.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 7 years demonstrated experience in Product Marketing or related roles (Marketing Strategy, Sales Enablement, Competitive Analysis, etc.).
  • Experience in enterprise software markets, particularly platforms and open source software.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, configuration management, release management, test-driven development, information security standards, and the container ecosystem.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, including a dynamic and engaging presentation style that inspires confidence.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • A deep love for generating beautiful, easy to understand content that produces results.
  • An ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizations.
  • Clear focus on delivering measurable results.
