About the Role:

As the PR Manager, you'll work across a wide range of tasks, mixing strategic thinking with roll-up-your-sleeves tactical efforts. You will work to increase brand awareness, exposure and editorial coverage for PitchBook across top-tier media outlets.

The ideal candidate has strong written communication and storytelling skills to successfully translate complex themes into newsworthy material. The candidate must be able to work successfully in a team environment and build effective working relationships inside and outside of the organization. This position reports to the Communications Group Manager and will work closely with the communications team, in addition to key stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate is a go-getter and strategic thinker who is results driven. Candidate must work well both independently and as part of a team. This position will be based in PitchBook's headquarters in Seattle, WA.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and strengthen relationships with top-tier media outlets within financial services
  • Proactively craft and pitch stories to the media using PitchBook data
  • Prioritize and respond to daily inbound requests for data from the media
  • Build positive awareness for, promote and amplify PitchBook product offerings through positive media coverage in key media outlets
  • Pitch editorial content with a focus on features and proactively manage media relations
  • Conceptualize and develop written materials, including press releases, briefing materials, pitch letters FAQs, Q&As and other supporting documents
  • Contribute to cross-functional marketing and lead generation campaigns
  • Attend and participate in conferences and events as the face of PitchBook
  • Support PR reporting and analysis as well as planning efforts
  • Help manage administrative tasks

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of PR experience
  • Written communication-exceptional writing skills, strong line-editing, copy-editing and proofreading skills, varies writing style to meet needs, presents numerical data effectively.
  • Oral communication-speaks clearly and persuasively; possesses ability to engage others; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; actively participates in meetings
  • Capacity to work across teams at the highest levels of the organization
  • Research skills-ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, present evaluations and summarize key findings precisely and succinctly
  • Creativity in storytelling
  • Exceptional relationship building, including interacting with executives in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of private equity, venture capital, and M&A is helpful but not required
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
