At Leafly, we believe cannabis is good for the health and happiness of the world, so we help people find it. Whether you’re new to cannabis and are curious about its benefits and effects, a medical marijuana patient seeking the right strains and products to help mitigate your illness, an adult consumer wanting to supplement your wellness regimen, or a cannabis enthusiast sniffing out the latest deals and potent finds, our website and apps are the bridge connecting millions of people with safe, legal access to the right cannabis products for them. (Think of us as your sativa spirit guide. Your indica indicators. Your helpful hybrid hunter! ...Okay, we’ll stop with the corny alliteration. Sorry. We’re just really excited about helping people find cannabis.)

We’re driving the industry towards a fully legal, regulated, and destigmatized future, but we need some talented, passionate, creative, and focused passengers to help get us there faster. Our teams love to collaborate, problem-solve, and take the occasional foosball or Smash Bros. break to clear their heads. Want to do those things with us? If you think you’re the perfect fit for the below position, we’d love for you to join our crew!

What You Will Be Doing:

Leafly is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to join its talented Content team. Reporting to the Content Director, this role will collaborate with the Content and Marketing teams to establish the information architecture and user flow for existing and future content projects. Our ideal candidate excels in running A/B or multivariate tests and making data-driven decisions to plan and execute successful content strategies. Taxonomy and analytics are your preferred playground, and you have the ability to see both the big picture and the minute detail required to refine and create industry-leading content in the cannabis space. You also possess a strong storytelling eye and are passionate about creating compelling and targeted content.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, test, and refine content, with a focus on informational stories and resources designed to educate medical marijuana patients and new cannabis consumers
  • Understand and execute/recommend SEO and content taxonomy best practices
  • Run tests and implement successful results for optimum user experience and engagement
  • Help hone the voice, tone, style, and point-of-view of Leafly’s informational resources
  • Help plan the creation and deployment of content by prioritizing key content goals
  • Work with a robust set of tools to test, track, and refine content performance
  • Pitch in where needed on one-off content projects and campaigns, helping to support and lead content strategy wherever necessary
  • Collaborate with editors, writers, UX designers, CMS developers, and marketers to achieve Leafly’s content goals
  • Manage a small but growing team of content strategists and serve as the point person for CMS developers to provide direction that aligns with key projects and departmental goals

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of content strategy experience for web or mobile
  • Experience creating and testing compelling/successful digital content, with familiarity across both B2B and B2C content a plus
  • Strong understanding of SEO, keyword research, information architecture, and usability best practices
  • Proficiency in running A/B and/or multivariate testing and interpreting data to inform strategy
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics or similar analytics tools
  • Experience in multi-media approach to content (articles, videos, infographics, interactive content, social media)
  • Experience managing a small team and providing ongoing direction/guidance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google suite, and ability to work closely with tech teams via communication tools such as Slack, Trello, and the Atlassian suite
  • Experience with Wordpress or a similar CMS system
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Marketing, or other relevant area of study
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Please include a sample of your work that displays your experience creating content across a range of types and topics.
