About the Role:

RealSelf is seeking an exceptional Sr. Communications Specialist who is enthusiastic about employing external and internal communications strategies to elevate and promote corporate giving and employer brand initiatives and streamline employee communications. This position will report to the Senior Communications Manager and work collaboratively with company leaders to develop and implement programs that ensure employees understand and support our mission, vision, and business goals. You will also promote our corporate giving initiatives and speaking and awards programs, ensuring employees and external audiences are engaged in and aware of our efforts.

In this role you will:

• Help define and implement a specific plan to create a smart, streamlined, efficient process for internal communications. Set clear objectives and continually make recommendations to improve effectiveness and increase employee engagement.
• Develop, regularly update, and communicate key resources and reporting documents to keep employees informed on company messaging.
• Plan, edit and write content for RealSelf-owned channels that keeps current and prospective employees informed on company news and employer brand efforts. 
• Support executives and company leaders through regular counsel and coaching on internal communications.
• Help create and execute a corporate giving strategy that engages our internal and external audiences and drives storytelling and link building opportunities. 
• Promote the RealSelf brand through recognition opportunities, positioning RealSelf as an employer of choice. Help identify, track and secure award opportunities, manage employee surveys and participation goals, communicate progress company-wide.
• Promote RealSelf and key leadership through speaking opportunities. Identify, track, submit and secure opportunities, and help prepare executives with messaging and materials. 
• Serve as a liaison between the communications department and other internal teams, including digital marketing and HR, to support the health of our social media channels and online recruiting profiles. 
• Provide general PR and media relations support to advance RealSelf business goals.

 You may be the right fit if you have: 

• 5+ years of communications experience, with proven experience developing and implementing internal communications strategies as well as extensive background pitching and securing earned media placements
• Ability to work with, communicate to, and influence senior leadership across the organization 
• Exceptional problem resolution and work prioritization skills
• A professional attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong work ethic and great collaborator
• Ability to set challenging and measurable goals and deliver results
• Ability to prioritize the most important work, multi-task and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines 
• Ability to manage ambiguous situations in a fast-paced work environment
• Experience identifying, tracking, and securing speaking opportunities. Should also be able to ideate with leadership and help draft content, and analyze and report results of podium/speaking efforts company-wide
• A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field

Work Environment:
