About the Role:

RealSelf is looking for a Senior Manager of Content Marketing and Operations to design and manage our nascent content marketing program. We’re building a team of beauty and aesthetic writers, data analysts and designers to create content that doesn’t exist anywhere else online. The person who takes this role will be able to play a major role in building this department from the ground up, and will make a major impact on the company’s overall success. In this role you will:

• Develop and lead content initiatives to build the RealSelf audience, including organic and paid traffic, registrations and social followers.
• Manage the SEO content specialist and ensure that all RealSelf content is SEO optimized in a way that doesn’t lower the quality or readability.
• Create and manage content distribution and promotion strategy, including budgeting and performance metrics.
• Work with communications, content, social media, and performance marketing teams to build and follow the master editorial calendar
• Identify and negotiate syndication agreements, both paid and unpaid.
• Conduct periodic competitor audits of traffic growth to understand what’s working for others in the space
• Manage the technical and operational aspects of the RealSelf blog.
• Stay abreast of the latest in SEO trends and best practices and help implement them across the company
• Generally keep the content trains running on time

You may be the right fit if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree and seven to 10 years of experience in publishing and/or marketing
• Proven track record of creating content to grow an audience.
• Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized and methodical. Able to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to high standards
• Editorial mindset and ability to work quickly against a news cycle
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations, and help carry those recommendations through, often working with multiple teams
• Ability to use Google Analytics and other content-related tools

Travel:

Two to four business trips anticipated annually.

Work Environment:

The RealSelf office sits in a historic Pioneer Square building. Employees also have the option to bring their dogs to work!
