Blue Nile is seeking a passionate and talented Sr. Manager, International Demand Forecasting and Planning who will drive the company’s efforts to maximize sales and margin through optimized demand forecasting and inventory management. As a key member of the International team within Blue Nile, this role’s primary responsibility is to partner with our planning, pricing, merchandising, and international team members to forecast sales, margin and inventory in order to enhance our selection and overall sales in international markets. The ideal candidate will have experience applying advanced analytical methods to produce high-impact business results and will need to be able to operate at a very detailed level while maintaining a view of the big picture.   This is an excellent opportunity for someone who desires to be part of a small and growing team charged with scaling the business to achieve ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities:

• Drive an aggressive growth plan in the international space through effective demand forecasting, pricing strategies, and inventory management
• Create business insight and actionable recommendations through quantitative and qualitative research; turn data into information that drives business results. 
• Forecast sales and recommend purchases and inventory balancing solutions by item to drive profitable sales growth and inventory turn
• Manage inventory, open-to-buy, inventory health and item-level forecasting
• Work closely with merchants to support assortment planning process
• Coordinate with other planning team members on internal transfers of product to balance inventory across the international and domestics sites and better satisfy customer orders
• Participate in selection, design, and implementation of a planning tool to ensure the international business needs are understood and met
• Lead and facilitate monthly inventory meetings with international sites to address excess and obsolete inventory
• Continually improve forecasting model and replenishment strategy to optimize profitability and inventory; Achieve, track, and maintain forecast accuracy according to stated goals; 
• Partner with Pricing Analyst to recommend and manage pricing strategies and changes to deliver on Blue Nile’s financial objectives and results
• Understand competitive dynamics in an actionable way including pricing, selection, changes and trends over time
• Create long-term forecasts for specialized programs ensuring adequate inventory levels
• Report on product performance for category
• Ability to manage plans across multiple local assortments, market geographies and business channels

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other analytically intensive studies, preferred
• Minimum of five years of relevant e-Commerce experience in demand planning/forecasting; preferably in a high volume, retail environment
• Proficient Excel skills required, including pivot tables, graphing, nested formulas and extensive lookups; SQL knowledge, desired
• Self-starter who has the ability to work autonomously
• Able to meet tight deadlines while working on several projects, simultaneously
• Data mining experience and excellent ability to generate actionable and accurate business results through analysis
• Strong communication and presentation skills, solid interpersonal skills for internal and external partners.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Ability and eagerness to embrace change within a fast-paced environment
• Jewelry industry knowledge/experience, desired
• Planning experience with an international focus, desired
