As a Sr. Marketing Analyst you are responsible for evaluating and optimizing marketing campaigns, identifying and providing insights & recommendations on performance of KPIs, and performing deep dive analyses to understand and improve subscriber activation, engagement and reactivation of customers. We’re looking for a passionate, creative and analytic person who is chomping at the bit to activate, engage and retain buyers on the biggest stage in collective buying. The Senior Analyst should have experience with relational databases and relationship marketing strategies to drive double-digit growth rates in activation, purchases, email engagement, multi-channel marketing and help take CRM efforts globally. Candidates will have a minimum of 2 years marketing, P&L ownership and project management experience and thrive in high performance cultures. SQL knowledge is a must.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities: 

  • Specifically leveraging CRM and behavioral data to help drive customer segmentation/profiling, touch point prioritization, messaging understanding

  • Cultivate and optimize CRM and data-base back-end marketing and communication strategies for each stage of the subscriber lifecycle for Groupon aimed at growing the customer base.

  • Model and analyze various relationship marketing strategies and tactics to define expected return on investment (ROI) while optimizing overall performance.

  • Create and deliver relevant reporting on an ongoing basis that analyze key metrics that identify improvement opportunities necessary to increase overall success of the relationship marketing efforts.

Job Requirements/ Specifications: 

  • Work with business leaders to deliver life-cycle and addressable marketing programs with bottom-line P&L impact for subscriber activation, re-activating, engagement and retention of customers.

  • Work with CRM Analytics managers to facilitate all analysis and measurement reporting. Analyzes reports, develops testing strategy (including multivariate testing) and responds to one-off data requests.

  • Expert knowledge of SQL, SAS or other database language and/or Tableau/Microstrategy reporting tools a plus.

  • Monitor both top line and bottom line impact of programs to achieve growth, revenue and ROI goals.

  • Develop and expand integrated measurement across all marketing channels - at the customer, initiative and program level. Individual will utilize query tools to perform planning and segmentation analyses.

  • Communicates clearly with business leadership and presents findings in the form of recommendations.

  • Work with business leaders to deliver meaningful insights to key questions, such as program measurement, targeting needs, or reporting needs. May work on projects such as:

  • Measuring marketing program effectiveness with emphasis on customer lifecycle

  • How to effectively market new product channels and its potential cannibalization on other sales

  • Understanding customer profiles and LTV potential and when someone is at-risk

  • Defining and implementing predictive or look-a-like models

  • Customer segmentation and advance targeting/personalization techniques

  • Creating a 360-degree view of our subscribers/customers and which touch-points to use when

  • Expertise in advanced analytics; Statistical modeling is a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge/ proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.

Other Functions: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, statistics, mathematics, economics or equivalent required; graduate/advanced degree preferred (MS/MBA)

  • 3+ year track record in data-driven, consumer marketing program management

  • Experience in database languages/reporting tools a strong plus

  • Experience with loyalty, CRM, life-cycle marketing and the role of information in driving offerings and effectiveness; multi-year experience with marketing data analysis

  • History with multi-million dollar budgets to consistently hit double-digit growth goals

  • Experience with large email marketing programs (deliverability, deployment, testing and analysis)

  • Strategic program development and big picture thinking in consumer e-commerce merchandising

  • Familiarity with key marketing metrics – solid analytical expertise. Knowledge of campaign testing strategies utilized in direct online channels (email, mobile notifications, social)

  • Ability to travel up to 10% - both domestically and internationally

  • Highly flexible, ability to handle changing directions/priorities and roles as business needs evolve
