This IT Manager position requires a broad range of skills but most importantly, we're looking for someone who excels at making distributed teams a cohesive unit by building out core technology platforms for global collaboration. To do so, you will need to be technically savvy to learn our platforms inside and out, a proactive communicator to manage Xinova's external vendors and internal stakeholders, and a confident, data-driven project manager.

In this position, you will work with the leadership team to define, research, and implement technical solutions that drive our global IT strategy forward. Your decisions will impact all of our offices, from our Asia-Pacific region to Australia to Seattle.

What you'll be doing:

 

Strategic Execution

  • Plan, develop and implement strategy for computing and infrastructure so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental leaders so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of IT development, and to ensure they are fully informed of objectives, purposes and achievements.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary information technology and provide suitable interpretation to executives, directors, managers and staff within the organization.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of overall IT strategy and performance with the VP of Operations.

Vendor Management

  • Manage and monitor external vendor relations within the Growth and Scale group.
  • Perform as the functional bridge amongst external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment, and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished.
  • Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required.

 

Product Development

  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Improves systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
  • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation, providing helpdesk support and training users.
  • Directs technological research by studying organizational goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Manage and optimize user subscription licenses to user base.
  • UAT: develop test scripts based on business requirements and processes.

 

   IT / Project Management

  • Monitor, measure, and report on computing, networking and infrastructure issues, opportunities and development plans, and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.  Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting budget requirements.
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, Master's degree in Information Technology or related technical field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical projects
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in ambiguous environments
  • Experience supporting IT for a global organization and distributed team (preferred)
  • Strong balance of operational, business, and technical aptitude and comprehension
  • Proven ability to lead a technical team
  • A willingness to be hands-on
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Highly organized and productive, requiring little supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers
  • Familiarity with SAS70 and SOX initiatives
