Due to COVID-19, Knock is currently operating as a remote company and all interviews will be conducted over phone or Zoom video calls. We plan to return to an office setting eventually, but that timeline has yet to be determined. When we do re-open our office, we will do so in a manner that is safe and comfortable for our employees and partners. We will continue to be remote-friendly for most employees and have opened up most of our positions to be either Seattle-based, hybrid office/work from home, or completely remote. It is also important to note that we are only able to hire employees who are based in the US.


The Role

As the Junior System Administrator at Knock, you will get to put your passion for both IT and customer service into your work every day! You will be responsible for exemplary tier 1 and 2 end user (employee) support, as well as assist with our large scale projects. This role is really hands-on, everything from general help desk and resetting passwords to helping our IT Manager implement the vision and strategy. This position will be required to go into our office in Ballard at least 3 days per week and you will get to report to, and be mentored by, the IT Manager to help grow your skills and experience.

Day to Day

  • Tier 1 end user support; examples: account lockouts, password resets, laptop hardware/software issues
  • JIRA ticketing system 
  • Mobile device mgmt admin
  • User provisioning and deprovisioning 
  • Project work 
  • Responding to anti virus alerts
  • Vulnerability management

30 / 90 / 180 Day Expectations

  • 30 Days
  • Grasp an understanding of the tools available to them
  • Can handle support requests without much guidance
  • Able to provision/deprovision user accounts for on/offboarding without much guidance

  • 90 Days
  • Comfortable enough to be on-call after hours
  • Able to handle on/offboarding without assistance
  • Able to assist with large scale projects

  • 180 Days
  • Have a major understanding of how to administer all products IT supports
  • Ability to roll out software updates without supervision

Basic Qualifications

  • Must Have
  • Help desk and ticketing experience with the ability to speak to customer service
  • 1 year Mac experience 

  • Bonus
  • Mac MDM experience
  • Google Workspace
  • Okta knowledge
  • Related degree
  • Experience at Apple store/repair enters (Apple specialty)
