We are seeking a passionate and motivated Systems Administrator to join a global team of System Admins, Infrastructure and Security Engineers. The ideal candidate would be innovative, be enthusiastic working with internal customers while actively seeking solutions on behalf of the customer, communicate trends to leadership acting on observed areas for improvement, and have lots of fun in the process.

You must have knowledge of operating systems, networking, and VOIP fundamentals. You understand TCP/IP and other common network protocols. You are proficient with at least one high-level scripting language (Python or PowerShell preferred). You should have a bias toward automation and track record of developing creative solutions. You have experience operating distributed systems and diagnosing and resolving complex problems. You show attention to detail and are adept at looking past symptoms and addressing the root causes.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Systems administration and support for the corporate IT infrastructure for Remitly

  • Manage Active Directory, G Suite, AWS, and network environments

  • Architect, design, evaluate, implement, and support system admin tools and services

  • Analyze issues concerning systems affecting internal customers including software issues, hardware issues, and new infrastructure deployments

  • Provide excellent support for internal customers by going above and beyond the customer’s expectations

  • Liaise with vendors when escalating issues

  • Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation

  • Work with team members in troubleshooting and performing root-cause analysis for resolving problems that have multiple dependencies (PC workstations, servers, networks, databases, software products, VoIP, etc)

  • Highly detail-oriented with good documentation skills

We'll fall for you fast if you:

  • Have 2+ years of progressive SysAdmin experience, ideally in a startup setting.

  • Understand the principles of routing and switching networking and the OSI model.

  • Have a strong understanding of DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSL

  • Have broad expertise across Linux, Windows, Windows Server, macOS, iOS, and Android

  • Have experience running geographically diverse backup and recovery exercises

  • Strong investigative skills in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Have administration experience with developer tools like Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and Jenkins

  • Have a can-do attitude and agreeable personality

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills—this position includes potential external interactions and requires you to collaborate with co-workers of diverse technical expertise

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Coding and scripting experience strongly preferred using Python/Powershell or other similar languages.

  • Experience deploying and managing productivity tools at a company-wide scale.

  • Experience deploying and managing A/V systems
