Uber is growing at a fast pace, and our Maps Platforms, which power experiences used in the order of billions of minutes/week, must scale at an equal rate with bar-raising quality. This role will drive the product strategy for Maps Platforms and will empower teams around Uber to efficiently leverage our geospatial services and user experience components to power the most engaging and compelling movement experiences for Uber's drivers, couriers, riders, and eaters.
What the Candidate Will Do:

  • Lead and align partners to the goals, strategies, and roadmap for Maps Platforms focused on delivering scalable, reliable, and flexible systems to power movement across all Uber businesses.
  • Dive deep into Uber's mobility and delivery businesses and their users' needs in order to redefine and improve the accuracy of the locations we set for each pickup, dropoff, and delivery.
  • Work with our incredible engineering team to create next-level developer experiences. Own the end-to-end partner onboarding experience working with Maps back-end systems and processes, and vendor integrations to enable Uber partner teams to efficiently and effectively leverage Maps services and APIs.
  • Build an understanding of partner teams' pain points and business goals and use these insights to shape the Maps platform roadmap and priorities
  • Set expectations between Uber partners/customers (Uber engineers, senior leaders, PMs, and Ops teams) and help these partners to scale and reach their goals through the Maps platforms.
  • Balance the fulfillment of short-term vs. long-term goals, particularly the goals of individual teams vs. the goals of Uber as a whole.
  • Drive strategic partnerships with third parties and evaluate build vs. buy trade-offs to build unique core trip and last mile experiences.
  • Explore opportunities and TAM for externalized Maps Platforms and frame a Northstar vision for how we could scale to power third parties.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of product management experience delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them -and you're deeply proud of what you've accomplished
  • You are an excellent communicator, and proactive at collaborating effectively with key cross-functional and cross-org partners!
  • User/Customer advocate - You deeply care about your end-users and customers, love experiencing your product, and relentlessly innovate for them
  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technology-related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a thirst for learning!
  • Experience with scaled logistics mobile products and platforms (Last-mile delivery, etc.)
  • Innovation at a high pace - You love solving problems that haven't been explored before and you believe in fast learning and experimentation.
  • Lead multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure org is effective, healthy, and set up for success by establishing clear measurable goals.
  • Technical Product Management experience on Platforms/APIs/SDKs.
  • Leadership and management - You enjoy coaching, empowering, and growing product teams. You invest in mentoring colleagues beyond your direct reports. You have experience coaching & growing Senior product leaders.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $203,000 per year - $225,500 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $203,000 per year - $225,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
