Funko is a purveyor of pop culture, making and selling license-focused collectibles. We’re based in Everett, WA where we have a store that delights kids of all ages (kids at heart included). We currently hold hundreds of licenses for franchises ranging from Marvel to Harry Potter, giving us the rights to create tens of thousands of characters—one of the largest portfolios in the pop culture and collectibles industry. We take your favorite characters and turn them into adorable, or sometimes scary, collectible figures. Our most famous line, Pop! Vinyl, has millions of fans around the world. 

The Product Development Manager is responsible for making sure that concepts turn into cool FUNKO VINL toys on retail shelves. The PM will manage projects from initial conception through our art team and into production in our factories. During this process, the PM will additionally collaborate with our external licensors (Lucas Arts, Marvel, Netflix, are a few examples) and sales teams to make sure that products are made with the required specifications. This position ensures key milestones and manufacturing/delivery dates are met.

We’re looking for star players who are organized, detail oriented and excel at working with teams to get things accomplished. 

Your Superpowers in Action

  • Establish and maintain rapport with Licensors and work to develop line lists and proposed development for mainline, exclusives and unique variants.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product pipeline and ensure key milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Partner with Licensing and Creative team members to introduce new form factors to licensors.
  • Ensure figures have received licensor approval and are produced correctly.
  • Manage all approvals and product development stages associated with each individual item both internally and with Licensor partners.
  • Facilitate product testing to ensure each item is tested and documented correctly in our licensor websites as needed and in our internal tracking software.
  • Monitor overseas correspondence to ensure all deliverables are provided to the factory when needed in order to maintain planned ex:factory dates.
  • Analyze challenges the product development team is facing and generate quick and viable solutions.
  • Daily review of projects to ensure ability to meet deadlines and address any possible delays.
  • Develop and communicate initial production schedule with internal teams, licensors, and factories and advise of any changes in development to line lists or SKU adjustments made to design when they occur.
  • Partner with Quality team to ensure communication takes place with manufacturer to address issues as they arise.
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis & projects as required

Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry

  • 2+ years of project management experience, preferably within a consumer goods organization
  • Demonstrated previous excellence in moving projects from start to finish, given changing information and various stakeholders
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in production workflow process
  • Outstanding ability to motivate and lead; positively influence co-workers and management
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve business problems.
  • Flexibility in fast paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and Adobe skills a plus
