Nortal is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Product Owner! The Senior Technical Product Owner will work with our client stakeholders to identify product needs and requirements and will then closely engage with our technical teams in understanding the vision and features. You will set, prioritize, and accept the work generated by the technical team in order to ensure that the results meet those needs and requirements that have been identified.

Responsibilities:

• Design a product/solution that meets the requirements of its intended users and business owners.
• Develop roadmaps that create the right balance between schedule, budget and business needs
• Asses value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
• Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team
• Solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments
• Create product backlog, maintaining and grooming stories and providing for their prioritization
• Ensure proper backlog cadence that aligns with that of the technical teams delivery approach (i.e. making sure backlog is far enough along to already have 1 to 2 sprints defined ahead of delivery)
• Maintain supporting product documentation and keep track of changes in functionality and business needs
• Ensure technical teams work meets defined acceptance criterion and teams definition of done for being accepted
• Work with business and technical team to ensure that proper testing coverage of business scenarios are incorporated and are a part of regressions testing.
• Participate in team demo’s and retrospectives

Qualifications Required:

• 5+ years of Technical Product Management/Owner experience
• 2+ years of consulting company experience
• Experience using software product development knowledge to influence roadmaps and successfully engage at a programmatic level
• Able to bridge between business owners and the project team -
• Ability to determine customer needs and recommend the scope of present and future product needs and specifications.
• Able to facilitate story mapping and work closely with client to determine product priorities
• Proven experience in being a trusted advisor and partner to your customer
• Ability to acquire additional work by creating value and selling ideas (i.e. Contribute to Product development)
• Excellent communication skills- ability to discuss expectations with client/customer with diplomacy
• BA/BS+ degree, preferably in CS related major
