Our Opportunity:

Chewy is dedicated to being the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents (and partners), everywhere. The Chewy Product Design and Research team embraces this vision, crafting experiences that aim to delight customers (and the businesses and veterinarians that support them) with unprecedented ease and convenience, empowering them to keep their pets happy and healthy. We are a hard-working, collaborative, and fun-loving team of designers, researchers, and builders, on the lookout for creative and driven talent to join the pack.

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer in Seattle, WA to own our Mobile and Tablet experiences within the Enterprise Product Design organization. In this role, you will lead the vision and strategy of our mobile applications, across a variety of business verticals both internal and externally facing. You’ll have the opportunity to think and act big, exercising continuous innovation and a bias for action, coupled with thoughtful experimentation. The ideal candidate will be a systems-level design thinker and visionary, with strong user-centered instincts and outstanding design intuition. Your primary goal will be to ensure an unparalleled user experience that enables our partners, businesses, and employees to accomplish their daily workflows in the most elegant, efficient, and enjoyable way possible. To achieve this, you will be responsible for driving the design process and propelling teams to completion - working closely with our partners in research, product management and engineering to help define the future success of Chewy’s enterprise products.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the product design of our Mobile apps on iOS and Android by delivering world-class solutions that serve our users on current and future needs
  • Transform customer and business objectives into compelling products that have purpose, simplicity, and are feasible to build
  • Lead innovative and systems thinking across a range of products, platforms, and devices with a bias for action and crisp management of multiple priorities
  • Manage the design process from discover and concept ideation; through flows and wireframes; to full-fidelity prototype designs
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, content strategists, user researchers, and other designers
  • Champion cohesion and consistency to unite a growing family of products while building a culture of invention and innovation
  • Clearly present your design process, inspiration, and decisions to stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Nurture Chewy’s culture and principles within the group while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence

What You'll Need:

  • 7+ years of experience with strong examples of shipping native mobile and mobile web products
  • Experience driving mobile strategy and “mobile-first” thinking with a strong perspective on complementary desktop/mobile experiences
  • Strong technical and usability knowledge of mobile considerations for iOS and Android
  • Systems thinker with experience operating within and contributing to a design system
  • Able to build strong cross-functional partnerships and successful executive stakeholder management
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills
  • A discerning eye for world-class visual design craftsmanship
  • Deep passion for our product and the impact that it has in the world
  • Position may require travel

Bonus:

  • A passion for and the ability to develop and mentor other design talent as a senior member of the team
  • Experience designing for Enterprise Products
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience within the design field
  • Prior experience designing large-scale enterprise software applications for multiple user-types
  • Experience working in a complex environment, with a proven ability to consider the impact of their decisions, past singular products
