Who we're looking for:

Rover seeks a passionate, experienced Technical Product Manager to execute the initiatives to scale our Infrastructure organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of the Infrastructure organization’s global initiatives. Rover is transitioning from a small to large company and there is a lot of opportunity to help and shape the direction of the department.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, loves to work on cutting edge technology and has a propensity for problem solving.

What does Infrastructure at Rover look like?

The infrastructure that powers Rover’s consumer facing web app runs in AWS. It is fully automated (IAC and CI/CD) with Kubernetes as its strategic platform. Rover’s data infrastructure has AWS Redshift as its centerpiece which together with a data lake supports various traditional and machine learning based applications. External services play an important role in Rover’s infrastructure. The IT environment uses very little on-premise hardware and leverages hosted services whenever possible to support end user systems.

The teams of the Infrastructure organization are responsible for data, IT, machine learning and cloud at Rover. Most of our customers are engineers, but collaboration with teams outside of the Tech organization is common.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead and roll out projects related to Infrastructure
  • Work with project stakeholders to find and define requirements
  • Track and monitor project progress in a collaborative and transparent way
  • Be the voice of Infrastructure in project planning and review meetings/presentations with partner managers and Senior Technical Leadership
  • Architect solutions for appropriate processes and drive innovation across the team
  • Proactively seek out problems and design solutions for those issues
  • Facilities discussion across teams discussing ways to improve the Infrastructure organization’s product offering to the business
  • Support various infrastructure related programs

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in CS, Project Management or related field or equivalent experience (Masters Degree a plus)
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Project and Program Management
  • Experience with Cloud based IT Environments
  • Thorough understanding of a large array of IT processes and best practices
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Skill with multiple project management methodologies including Agile
  • Deep experience running projects for multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Superior communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to match the needed communication style to the situation
