About the Role

OneCare is seeking experienced editors to help us create best-in-class commercial content. In this role, you’ll shape our most important products not just through line editing, but by creating style guides and onboarding and managing contract teams of expert writers and remote editors. You’ll create and maintain feedback loops and work to develop talent, both in-house and contractor-based. You’ll also partner with expert, medically licensed reviewers to elevate and uphold content standards across one of the most highly trafficked sleep sites on the web.

The ideal candidate will have a keen editorial eye and a strong sense of what makes for excellent, trustworthy content, helping us set and maintain editorial quality and standards. We want someone who is highly collaborative and enjoys coaching and empowering others and can easily empathize with users. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing team early on and develop new standards, practices, and products. 

This position reports to OneCare’s Managing Editor and will be based out of our Seattle office (remote through 2021).

What You'll Do

  • Create foundational style guides across different types of content and websites in our portfolio 
  • Write and edit content of all types 
  • Onboard and manage remote writers and editors
  • Seek and implement input from expert medical reviewers
  • Build and maintain editorial feedback loops
  • Ensure quality control at each stage gate of production 
  • Work with design and development teams to deploy new content products

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 2 years of experience in copy editing and/or content writing
  • Possess a thorough understanding of user intent and experience
  • Passion for your craft, with an appetite to continue to challenge yourself and those around you
  • A team player with a positive outlook and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of SEO
  • Portfolio of excellent written examples
