Blink Embedded is looking for a Content Strategist/Business Analyst to work on a key client account.

This is a remote 6 month contract with potential for extension.

You will be helping us build the resources for the Design Studio team members to be successful in their careers. You will bring your past experiences working with (or as part of a) Product Design team to organize and communicate expectations of the roles in the Studio, the path to growing a career in Design, as well as the tools and resources that team members spend too much time on trying to understand process and policy, when they should be focused on the job in which they were hired to do. You’ve been there. You get what motivates a Designer, the questions they ask and the inspiration they seek. Once you are onboarded, you need very little oversight, will help us see around corners, suggest direction, and call out gaps that we may have missed in our plans.

You have experience working in a large corporation environment, though you know that is not what drives a creative culture. You know how to blend both.

SCOPE

  • Leveling guidelines & Career Ladder:
  • Help us develop an overarching framework and content for expectations shared across all Studio team members that align to our Design Principles and Product DNA (due prior to Thanksgiving)
  • Evaluate the current career ladder and job titles, identify any confusing aspects, missing content, nomenclature for future disciplines
  • Following the approval of that framework, develop discipline specific guidelines (Product Design, Brand Design, Design Research, Design Technology, Content Design, Design Program Management)

  • Studio Guide:
  • This is the go-to resource for all things related to being part of the Studio. From how to’s and who’s who, to policies, process and various connecting points across the Studio. This project will launch in multiple phases and be an ongoing, living digital experience.
  • Outline and collection of content for the Studio guide has started.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Phase 1 (to be defined) will launch before EOY in either a Google doc or SharePoint format. Help us identify the must-haves for Phase 1, populate gaps in content and tie the overall experience together in tone.
  • Phase 2: continue to build out content and work on content strategy and site map for the end product (internal facing website).
  • Phase 3: finish remaining content pieces and identify any future potential needs/updates

  •  Collaborate with Studio Operations and Leadership to understand the culture and vision. Translate that into content that will support and inspire our current and future teams. Think and talk like a member of the Design Studio.
  • Work proactively, identify direction or insights that we may have not considered or missed.
  • Bring your point of view, share best practices, marketplace trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Proactively network and establish effective working relationships within the industry.
  • Independently follow through on assignments with minimal direction; take action when answers to a problem are not.
  • Be very comfortable with ambiguity - we are starting from scratch.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of writing and/or content strategy in a Design organization
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects, and client relationships
  • Experience building processes and documentation from the ground up

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Design industry
  • Experience working in ambiguous environments, ability to get to the root of the challenge
  • Experience recruiting candidates at various levels with the ability to change approach as needed
  • Passionate about delivering this type of content aligned with our Studio’s culture
  • Strong project management skills
