About the Role: 

RealSelf seeks a creative, driven, and resourceful Senior Content Writer with a passion for modern beauty to join our content team. The successful candidate will create best-in-class content about aesthetic procedures, helping consumers through their journey from discovery through recovery. They must be endlessly curious and knowledgeable about skin care and medical aesthetics—and about how the content they write can best support RealSelf’s mission to help millions of people make smart, confident decisions about cosmetic procedures, products, and providers.

The ideal candidate can confidently research and develop a wide variety of content, including procedure, cost, and safety guides, as well as new types of content that meets consumer needs.

In this role, you will:

• Research, develop, and optimize consumer-friendly, medically accurate, and engaging content about plastic surgery, noninvasive cosmetic procedures, skin care, and all things modern beauty.
• Look beyond procedure marketing spin to tease data on real results from clinical studies—and then simplify that information for a consumer audience. 
• Interview doctors, dermatologists, and other medical experts to enrich your content with insights that are unique to RealSelf.
• Adhere to and consciously evolve the RealSelf voice and style, helping bring our brand voice to life for millions of consumers, on and off our site.
• Self-manage day to day projects. 
• Pitch, develop, and deliver fresh content ideas that engage and build consumer audiences.
• Collaborate on tests that yield actionable insights for optimizing messaging, layouts, and our overarching content strategy.
• Demonstrate a working understanding of SEO strategy and content optimization tactics.

You might be the right fit if you have: 

• 7+ years of experience in online journalism, content marketing, or other long-form writing for a consumer audience
• A personal interest in and enthusiasm for beauty and aesthetics 
• Exceptional communication, writing and editing abilities 
• A proven track record of successfully building brand voice and tone through content
• Experience with content testing, performance analysis, and optimization
• The ability to multitask and navigate through ambiguity and real-time pivots to arrive at accurate, consumer-friendly, and SEO-optimized content solutions
• An enthusiasm for performance data and desire to boost organic traffic and marketing channel performance by creating exceptional content
• Outstanding organization, time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consistently meet short and long-term deadlines
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills 
• A personal interest in and enthusiasm for beauty and aesthetics
