Your New Role...
The BI Engineering Manager will be based in Los Angeles/ San Francisco/ New York and report to the Director of BI Engineering for Business Intelligence and Analytics (BI&A). BI&A is a global team with team members in 5 countries, and a core sub-pillar of the Data Platform. BI&A is the critical foundation for product, content, subscription, revenue, marketing, and lab teams to make data-driven decisions to improve our products and services for WBD streaming, digital, and enterprise business.
This team is focused on providing scalable BI platforms, customizable business-ready datasets and analytics framework supporting our domestic and international stakeholders.
We seek an engineer who not only has a deep understanding of the application of big data to complex business questions, but also experience designing and building semantic layers and bringing business-ready data to best support self-service vehicles. You will work closely with product, and business experts to turn data into data modeling, turn data into actionable insights, and optimization in between (ETL-ing).
The ideal candidate has a track record of creating the identity for a team and defining how that team works within a larger organization. You lead a team to support BI and analytics for a new streaming product launch.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Lead selection, implementation, optimization and integration of WBD DTC Business Intelligence and Visualization tools.
- Roll up your sleeves and contribute as you build and lead a team of talented BI engineers in the design and execution of insightful business-ready datasets, and enable businesses to create easy-to-use content-focused dashboards, visualizations and reports.
- Build aggregate datasets in Databricks and/or Snowflakes that power visualizations.
- Design data modeling and semantic layers in Looker to power self-service analytics
- Dive deep into available data using SQL, Looker, Tableau, Python, Scala, or other data analysis tools.
- Synthesize large volumes of data and complex concepts into clear insights and analytics frameworks, quickly and accurately.
- Work in an Agile development environment
- Participate in the creation and support of BI development standards and best practices.
- Work with other leads from product, data engineering, data science and research, to identify and build data products that will aid with the identification, analysis, goal setting and tracking with insights
- Manage and mentor a team of BI engineers and provide technical guidance on the data products
- Lead/support initiatives to uplevel the data platform functions
Qualifications & Experience...
- Bachelor's degree, MS or greater in a quantitative field of study (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, etc.)
- Data architecture experience
- 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
- Advanced skills with SQL(clean, fast code is a must)
- Advanced skills in BI tools such as Looker and Tableau
- Advanced skills in Snowflake and/or Databricks
- Development experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Scala, etc..)
- Communication and leadership experience, with experience initiating and driving projects
- Experience scaling and managing teams
- Must be independent
- Must be curious

The Legal Bits...
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $109,900.00 - $204,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
