We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Data to join Snap Inc! Working from our Los Angeles, CA or Seattle, WA offices, as part of our Data team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining Snap’s critical big data processing pipelines. We are looking for someone who can solve technical challenges, which include designing robust and resilient data pipelines to process billions of events every day. You will also work with teams across the company and drive a number of high visibility initiatives with direct impact on our business.
What you'll do:
- Design and Implement scalable and reliable data processing and analytics structure
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision and emphasize the best engineering practices
- Advocate for quality and health of our data systems
- Work with Product and Engineering teams across Snap Inc.
- Deliver operational excellence by identifying, resolving, and fixing root issues
- Build robust, lasting, and scalable data platforms
Minimum qualifications:
- BA in math, statistics, computer science, or other quantitative field
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience with building big data processing pipelines using Spark/Beam/Storm/Flink or similar frameworks
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience operating systems in AWS or GCP
- Experience driving large scale projects during all phases of development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to identify and communicate data-driven insights
