Position Summary
We are hiring a Vice President of Data Science and Analytics in Bellevue, Washington to lead efforts to transform data into actionable insights and science-driven capabilities across our food, home, and lifestyle products. The VP of Data Science and Analytics will be a strategic partner to all departments within the digital lifestyle team, placing customers at the core of our decision making and ensuring that customer-centric, data-driven decision making is used throughout the team.
This role will build and lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and data engineers to invent and build data science and analytics capabilities in support of consumer products across mobile, tablets, web, connected TV, voice, and emerging technologies. They and their teams will use big data platforms, data warehousing, business intelligence technology, data science, machine learning, and self-service visualization analytics to drive these insights and product capabilities. This leader will be responsible for the development, end-to-end execution, and standardization of data and statistical analytics, data science initiatives, and operational algorithms and models.

Responsibilities
1. Partner with senior business, product, and engineering leaders to determine the strategic goals, plans, and operating practices to deliver world-class consumer products and high-performing teams.
2. Work with engineering leaders and partner teams to identify scalable and accessible data sources for analysis and operational use. Lead efforts to provide actionable data insights from this data through user friendly self-service tools.
3. Build and manage a scalable data architecture and infrastructure to deliver customer, product, and marketing insights.
4. Determine how to leverage data science, machine learning, and other modeling techniques to improve product features and capabilities. Lead the innovation and thought leadership in how we leverage data-driven algorithms and techniques to improve the customer experience.
5. Create and investigate hypothesis, using in-depth analysis, related to customer engagement, content and marketing performance, and other product capabilities.
6. Partner with business, product, content, and marketing leaders to understand critical use cases and requirements, and deliver data solutions to enhance and accelerate their capabilities.
7. Translate data from multiple sources into a story that explains user behavior, identifies opportunities, and provides actionable insights
8. Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of all data analytics and sciences initiatives.
9. Make data science techniques approachable and understandable to non-data scientists.
10. Hire, manage, and develop data and research scientists, analysts, data engineers, and other technical professionals, helping them enhance their skills, while creating a fun and engaging culture that helps them prosper.
Requirements
* Minimum of 10+ years of proven technical experience in data science, engineering, and analytics.
* Minimum of 7+ years managing data science, analytics, and/or engineering professionals, with responsibilities that included day-to-day management, professional development, hiring and retention, and coaching and mentoring.
* Masters or PhD degree in quantitative or technical field (statistics, mathematics, computer sciences, etc.).
* Demonstrated ability to work across product, engineering, and analytics teams to evaluate new ideas, discuss technical concepts, create scalable designs, and make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks.
* Expertise in structuring, cleansing, and preparing large, complex datasets for analysis.
* Expertise with statistics, predictive modeling, and/or data science concepts. Experience in applying statistics, data science, algorithms, and/or machine learning in a professional or other intensive environment to solve key business challenges, and/or accelerate product features and capabilities.
* Familiarity with core statistical concepts, including hypothesis testing, experiment design, and confidence intervals.
* Experience building data products and creating data visualizations. Proficiency working with data and business intelligence tools, such as with Excel and Tableau.
* Experience with SQL and with statistical programming languages, such as Python or R.
* Experience with Amazon Web Services (Redshift, S3, EC2, EMR, etc.) required.
* Experience with Adobe Analytics is a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Can communicate the results of your work clearly to your audience.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
