Motion Designer

Job Description:

Creative execution is a key factor in the success of our marketing efforts and the clients we support. Our ability to test iterations of copy, images, and overall design concepts drives the insights and optimization needed to make a winning marketing campaign. Creativity partners with Data to guide every step of our process, and the details matter.


New Engen is seeking a creative and talented self-starter who is passionate about motion graphics, video editing and marketing creative strategy. You’re a highly collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn and a spirit of curiosity. You balance an efficient “get things done” attitude with a high bar for quality. You have an eye impactful creative execution and you’re motivated by the powerful role of motion design in digital marketing.


  • Design short, beautiful motion video ads optimized for social media across a wide variety of clients and styles
  • Iterate quickly based on performance data and creative ideas to fuel testing
  • Edit video footage and raw or stock photography for use in motion ads
  • Execute motion designs from provided creative direction, and conceptualize original ads and execute start to finish
  • Collaborate with account managers and teammates to contribute ideas for creative iterations based on best practices, performance data and new creative ideas


  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Strong conceptual skills: ability to brainstorm and iterate quickly
  • Knowledge of multiple video and motion graphics workflows
  • Ability to marry video footage with type and design to create elegant visual solutions
  • Accredited degree in visual communication, related creative field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative software, especially After Effects and Premiere
  • Illustration experience is a plus
  • Agency experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and desire to learn
  • Patience hearing and learning endless analytics acronyms
